George Look (Snr)

 

George Look and his twin sister Martha were born in Glastonbury, Somerset, in 1801, to Thomas (1755-1827) and Mary [Tarzwell] Look (1762-1827). His other brothers and sisters were: Thomas (1784-1855), Anna (1785-1858), Sarah (1786-1859), Mary (1789-1828), William (1791-), John (1798-1832), James (1803-57), Elizabeth (1805-) and Charles (1805-84).

He married Mary Ann Tabor Welchman, who was born on 23 November 1805, in Bath, Somerset, on 21 May 1826.

 

They had seven children in 14 years – William (1827), Mary (1828), Sarah (1833), George (1834), Elizabeth (1837), Ellen (1839) and Matthew (1841). He died on 7 May 1871 in Ditcheat, Somerset, at the age of 70, and was buried there. Mary Ann died on 27 January 1892 at the age of 86 years and was also buried in Ditcheat.
